Tappan Resident Sees Great Film

  A few nights ago, with nothing better to do (since our cable was down), my wife and I headed to the movies to see 42.  It was a great show, and the experience was made even better by what took place before and after the film was shown.  We went to the Closter Cinema in Closter, NJ, a few minutes from Tappan, where we live.  Unlike going to the giant multiplex in the Palisades Mall, we were greeted by the manager, Scott, who chatted with us in the lobby.  Scott then introduced himself before the movie began, and asked for all phones to be turned off.  He then went up to the projection booth, and began the film.  He was in the lobby again afterwards, conversing with folks as they left.  Walking out to the car, I said to my wife that it felt like small town life somewhere in the mid-west during the 1950's.  With that in mind, I popped in a doo-wop CD into the dash, and cruised on home.
